Thanos Kyousis: The story behind his mustache and the incredible way he proposed to his wife.
Thanos Kyousis , otherwise known as "Tonis Sfinos" in this TV season has taken on a new role, that of the presenter of the game show 5×5.
On the occasion of this new role, Thanos Kyousis was on Monday night a guest of Grigoris Arnautoglou on "The 2Night Show" and in the midst of it all he revealed the story behind his characteristic mustache and the special way in which he proposed marriage to his wife, Joanna.
Regarding his characteristic moustache , Thanos Kyousis revealed that in 2005 he was offered the role of soldier and in order not to get hurt, he thought of growing a mustache and playing Cretan. There, in fact, he met Antonis Remos, with whom he was in the "same rank" in the Tripoli air force.
Also, Thanos Kyousis revealed that he was studying Electronics at TEI Piraeus when he decided to drop out of school in order to go to Belgium to become a juggler studying at a circus school. When he returned to Greece he performed on the street.

"I was making a very good living on the street. At the festival that was held in Gazi, I did four shows a day and there was a day when I made 2000 euros", admitted Thanos Kyousis.
"My mother accepted it with a smile. My father, a retired seaman, just shook his head as then and now. My parents always helped financially, I tried to avoid it but I had to ask for help. When I came back from Belgium, I happened to see a friend of mine on the train who told me he does ballet, he had very nice movement and I was excited. I was 28 years old when I went to a dance school for adults in Exarchia to learn ballet. I started and got excited, I took exams at the State School and the Ministry" Thanos Kyousis said at another point and continued,
"I went to the Ministry, I did the first year and started messing with dance groups, through dance music came into my life. These within 10-12 years. My parents understood from a young age that something was wrong, that I had a calling towards the arts, so there were never any brakes on my decisions.
They started calling me in various presentations, there I met Christos Ferentinos, then I started participating in theater performances and I met Antonis Papailias, with whom we work together until today."
Regarding the presentation of 5×5, Thanos Kyousis revealed that... he nominated himself.
"For 5×5 I nominated myself. I called and told them that I know how this game is going to be made and asked to do a trial run. A lot of people did a trial... It took me a long time to make a decision. Despite everything, they took me and told me that I was among the best and then, they told me that I will be the presenter," he said.
About his wife and children, Thanos Kyousis said , "My wife is my right hand, maybe even my left hand. She curates my outfit, does all the organizing. We met at a show, the moment my eyes fell on Ioanna, someone took a picture of us. I immediately felt an attraction, we started dating and talking but I never imagined that we would get married. We have been together for 10 years, 7 of them married. Our children, our boys are 5 and 4 years old….
I wouldn't want my children to experience all this insecurity that my profession has. Today you work, tomorrow what do you do: I fight it inside, I think "do whatever you want as long as you do it perfectly".
Regarding the special marriage proposal he made to his wife, Thanos Kyousis revealed , "I have a problem, I can't make things normal... When I proposed to Ioanna, I wanted to dress up as an admiral and go and ask for her from my grandmother and her mother... After asking for her hand in marriage, I put the single stone on the dog's leash and we went and I proposed to her."
"I don't like lies and pretending. I can't have someone lie to me to use me. I have had such examples in my career" he concluded.
