couple of days ago, a shocking video circulated on social media of a cadet from the Heroic Naval Military School who died when he failed to open his parachute after jumping from a helicopter.

The accident in which this young man died occurred on July 1, 2024 at the Specialized Training Center of the Marine Infantry in the state of Campeche. However, the video went viral two days later.

The cadet was in his second year at the naval school and was identified as Emmanuel VelΓ‘zquez. He jumped from the helicopter along with seven other companions during a jump practice that is part of the basic course for parachute riflemen of the Navy Secretariat (SEMAR).

Everyone except Emmanuel was able to open the parachute. As a result, he fell to the ground and died instantly.

According to initial reports, Emmanuel's parachute was apparently damaged or simply jammed, which is why he was unable to open it after jumping out of the aircraft.

There are several reasons why a parachute does not open, the most common being failures in the release system, equipment defects and packaging errors, as well as lack of equipment maintenance or incorrect handling by the parachutist.

They can also fail due to weather conditions such as strong winds and turbulence.

In the video, a man can be heard shouting: “One, one went straight, one went straight” referring to the fact that one of the cadets was unable to open his parachute.

Later, you hear someone on the radio asking for help from a doctor and the person recording runs to the area where Emmanuel fell.
