HAALAND ENDED HIS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GOAL DROUGHT - PASSED THE REAL MADRID LEGEND
When teammate Rodri was tagged and fouled in the penalty area in the second half, the Norwegian got the opportunity to score his first Champions League goal in over half a year. The previous one came in last season's quarter-final against Bayern Munich.
Haaland just outwitted Young Boys goalkeeper Anthony Racioppi on the penalty kick, and scored his first goal in the tournament in six games. Later would set another goal.
- The second goal was as Erling is - fantastic. We have been happy with him ever since he arrived, but people expect seven goals from him every time. It's fantasy. It belongs in a fairyland, says Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola to TV 2.
HAALAND ENDED HIS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GOAL DROUGHT - PASSED THE REAL MADRID LEGEND
(Young Boys – Manchester City 1-3) Swiss Young Boys rocked the reigning Champions League champions. Erling Braut Haaland (23) then took responsibility with two goals and ended a nine-hour goal drought in the favorite tournament.

The 23-year-old thus ended another goal drought, after the world star scored his first goal in almost a month against Brighton at the weekend.
- I'm sorry, but this guy is going to score goals all his life, says Guardiola to TNT Sports.
With four minutes left to play, the City striker received the ball in the 16-yard box, set the ball straight with his right foot and curled in 3-1 in fine fashion and put the nail in the coffin.
Haaland's second goal of the evening was his 37th overall in the Champions League in 33 games. It moves him into the top 20 list of all-time top scorers in the tournament as he passes Real Madrid legend Ferenc Puskás .
- I think he himself knows how good he is. I don't know what goes on in his head, but from what I see he is confident and wants to score every week. He is hungry. If he scores two he will have three or four more. He never gives up, and all credit to him, says City talent Rico Lewis to TV 2 after the match.
After the victory, the reigning "The Treble" winners have a full pot for the first three games in the group stage, leading by three points to RB Leipzig in Group G.
But City had to struggle for victory in the Swiss capital of Bern.
Manuel Akanji sent the visitors into the lead straight after the break, but the Young Boys responded immediately.
Meschack Elia was suddenly alone with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson and equalized with a beautiful chip. In icy fashion, the ball dropped in the air and into the net wall behind the Brazilian, and the home team shook the big favourites.
But later in the half, Haaland took responsibility and ensured two scores and another three points in the group.
Before the break, Manchester City squandered their chances violently. Haaland himself had two great chances in the first half hour, but was unable to score in front of the Swiss's goal.
Neither did Rodri, Matheus Nunes or Jéremy Doku, who all had great opportunities to send the visitors into the lead.
Anthony Racioppi in the Young Boys cage kept up with one good save after another in the first half and made sure it was 0-0 at half-time.
But the Swiss underdogs could have easily shaken the reigning Champions League winners before the break. The Young Boys made several counterattacks, but were not effective enough to shock Pep Guardiola's men before the break.
However, they were able to do so after the break with Elias' dream goal, but it was not enough for the Bern team to score points.
City and Haaland woke up in earnest in the last half of the second half, and steer towards the quarter-final after three new points in the group.
